Bengali Hit ‘Dostojee’ sets US, UAE, Australia, New Zealand theatrical release

The critically acclaimed Bengali film Dostojee will be released in the US, UAE, Australia and New Zealand in March. Bioskope Films LLC has acquired its US theatrical rights. It will be released in 75 cities in 26 states. Its premiere is scheduled to take place in New York. This theatrical run essentially means it will be eligible for the 2024 Academy Awards.

Prasun Chatterjee's commercially successful Bengali film Dostojee is all set to hit the screens in the international market. It will be released in the US, UAE, Australia and New Zealand on March 17. In the US, Dostojee will be released in theaters by Bioskope Films LLC. Banner plans to screen it in 75 cities in 26 states. It will also be released in Australia, Canada and New Zealand. UAE Phars Film Co Motion Pictures will be responsible for its distribution in the UAE.

ABOUT DOSTOJEE

Dostojee is the story of friendship between Palash (played by Asik Shaik), the son of a Brahmin, and Safiqul (Arif Shaikh), the son of a Muslim weaver. It takes place after the demolition of the Babri Mosque in 1992.

Dostojee premiered at the 2021 BFI London Film Festival to critical acclaim. It was screened at 32 international film festivals in 26 countries. Following this, Dostojee opened in theaters in India in November 2022 and proved to be a major commercial success. It found good favor, which helped it play in theaters for 12 weeks.
